On Friday 20 June, cricket fans at the Banks Homes Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street were treated to more than just thrilling T20 action. As part of Croxdale Group’s ongoing partnership with Durham Cricket Club, the dealership proudly showcased three standout Jeep models at one of the summer’s most anticipated double-header fixtures: Durham Men vs Yorkshire and Durham Women vs Essex.
In the headline men’s Vitality Blast match, Durham posted a commanding 193 for 4, thanks to standout innings from Graham Clark (53 off 35) and a fast-paced 42 from Jimmy Neesham*, who also impressed with the ball, taking 2 for 23. Yorkshire, in contrast, struggled to recover from early losses and were bowled out for just 130 in 17.3 overs.
Durham’s 63-run victory moved them into strong contention for a North Group quarter-final spot.
Notably, Jimmy Neesham, already recognised locally through his connection with Croxdale Group and Alfa Romeo, played a key role in the victory, further reinforcing the alignment between sporting excellence and brand presence.

Positioned to capture the attention of fans entering the ground, two Jeep Avenger SUVs stood proudly at Gate 2, either side of “The Sticky Wicket” hospitality area. These head-turning vehicles welcomed supporters and offered a preview of the adventurous spirit Jeep is known for. Meanwhile, a Jeep Wrangler added rugged charm at the Bank House entrance, near the Don Robson Pavilion, showcasing the brand’s off-road legacy.
Croxdale’s presence wasn’t just static, members of the team were on site throughout the evening, engaging with attendees and showing their continued support for local sport.
Adding to the occasion, Ben McKinney, one of Durham’s brightest young talents, was also in the men’s line-up. Croxdale Group is set to engage McKinney as part of a new alliance, supporting local talent and creating meaningful partnerships with rising sports stars.
This alignment marks another step in Croxdale’s commitment to backing homegrown athletes while connecting automotive innovation with community pride.
Earlier in the day, Durham Women were put in to bat after Essex won the toss. Despite a valiant 47 not out from captain Hollie Armitage, Durham struggled to recover from a rocky start and finished on 101 for 8. Essex chased down the total with 6 wickets in hand and 18 balls to spare, led by Lauren Winfield-Hill’s 29 and a superb early spell from Esmae MacGregor, who continues to lead the competition wicket charts.
Although it wasn’t the result Durham Women hoped for, the home crowd remained in high spirits throughout, buoyed by a full evening of action and the vibrant matchday atmosphere.
From bold Jeep vehicles turning heads at the stadium to strong on-pitch performances from players tied to Croxdale’s wider network, the evening at Banks Homes Riverside was a proud reflection of the Group’s values, community, quality, and connection.
Whether you're in the stands cheering for Durham or driving through the North East, Croxdale continues to champion local excellence, on the road and on the field.
