Chery Durham joins Durham Cricket for 2026 season media day

The Chery TIGGO 8 takes centre stage as Durham’s women’s teams launch the season

Chery Durham was proud to be part of the 2026 season media day at Durham Cricket, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for both the club and the brand.

Set against a backdrop of rain-laden skies, the Durham women’s squads for the 2026–2027 season came together on the pitch. And despite the conditions, the energy didn’t shift.

The team showed exactly what they’re about from the outset.

A moment that reflected the season ahead

With players representing the T20 & One Day Cup Cricket formats, the day brought together the full strength of Durham’s women’s teams.

Wearing their new kit for the first time, they carried a presence that cut through the grey skies. Focused. Composed. Ready.

It was a reminder that performance isn’t dictated by conditions. It’s defined by mindset.

Meet the Team

The Chery TIGGO 8 on the pitch

At the centre of the day stood the Chery TIGGO 8.

Positioned on the pitch alongside the players, it became part of the story. Not as a backdrop, but as a statement of what’s to come.

The TIGGO 8 is designed for real life. A spacious, adaptable SUV built for families, busy schedules, and everything in between.

Its presence at Durham Cricket reflects Chery’s arrival in the region, and a commitment to supporting the club throughout the season.

A partnership built on shared direction

This partnership comes at a time of progress for both organisations.

As Chery launches in Durham, introducing a new range of vehicles focused on comfort, performance, and everyday usability, Durham Cricket continues its own journey forward, including a growing focus on sustainability and electrification.

It’s a natural alignment. Moving forward with purpose, and doing it the right way.

A day that brought everyone together

The media day welcomed a wide range of attendees, including:

  • Players and coaching staff
  • Club partners and sponsors
  • Media and photographers
  • Commercial guests and stakeholders

All experienced the Chery TIGGO 7 first-hand, as part of a wider introduction to the brand ahead of the season.

Further imagery and behind-the-scenes content from the day will be released in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead to the season

Chery Durham will play an active role throughout the season, supporting the women’s teams and engaging with the wider cricket community.

Plans already in motion include:

  • Opportunities for players to experience extended test drives across the Chery TIGGO range
  • A dedicated training day activation featuring the Chery ‘Soccer Aid Car Boot Challenge’
  • Continued presence at key fixtures and club events

As the season begins, there’s a sense of momentum building.

For Durham Cricket. For Chery in the region. And for what happens when the right partnerships come together.
